Historical background
Post-communism can be defined as the social and political transformation of a country which after World War II was influenced by the Soviet Union. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and subsequent changes within the Soviet Union, these countries are trying to transition to a capitalist economy and political system. The remnants of the former communist ideology are still vividly present in the fiction created shortly after these transformations occured.
